LANK Weather Policy

In the event of inclement weather closings, delayed openings, or early closings, LANK follows the decisions made by Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS). If FCPS closes due to weather, so does LANK.  Please check your email to find a message From the Directors  as early as 6:00 am the morning in question. We will also post on our social media. Whenever possible, we will notify our community the night before.
 
Our FCPS policy: 
When LANK  announces a delayed opening of two hours, we will have the following schedule:

AM Session: 10:30am-12:30pm
PM Session: 1:45pm-3:45pm
 
AM Explore and More: 12:35pm-3:45pm


If Fairfax County announces an early closing of two hours, LANK’s PM session will be cancelled, and all morning classes will be dismissed at 12:30pm.

For all school closings or delays, please check your email for announcements directly from LANK.

If the weather becomes inclement during the course of any school session, please keep in mind that the LANK parking lot may become icy and  difficult to navigate.  For your safety and that of our children and staff, you may be directed to park at the pool next door and walk to LANK in order to pick up your children. For this reason, we also may dismiss earlier and would notify families. 

 

Every effort will be made to dismiss quickly and safely and your help and patience will be appreciated.
