A Special Tribute...

Lake Anne Nursery Kindergarten joins the Reston community in mourning the loss of the legendary Robert E. Simon.

A true visionary, Mr. Simon was dedicated to the concept of education for young children. When designing Reston in the 1960's, he designated and generously donated land for an early learning center.

Lake Anne Nursery Kindergarten was created in 1965 and became Reston’s first preschool, at a time when preschool education in the United States was a rarity.

We are grateful for his pioneering spirit and continued support throughout the years.

We celebrate with pride Mr. Simon's gifts to LANK and to the town that he so proudly built.
